Educational Therapist & Founder

My youngest daughter was a struggling reader.

By the end of first grade, it was a fight to get her to school each day. She loved her teachers, loved her friends, but had begun to hate reading.

The next year, I began teaching her reading using a structured and systematic method. She flourished.

Our Mission

Eradicate reading failure through high-quality, evidence-based reading instruction.

Our Approach

Based on Science

Our educational therapy services follow current best practices based on the science of reading. This body of research helps us understand how people learn to read and write, why some people struggle, and what teaching methods are effective.

The science of reading is a vast, interdisciplinary body of scientifically-based research about reading and issues related to reading and writing.

Individualized Lessons

Reading instruction is not "one-size-fits-all." Research has shown that reading involves numerous skills; likewise, there are many reasons a student may struggle to learn to read.

We take time to get to know each student's unique needs before beginning intervention services. This allows us to target the specific skills they need help with, and in turn, they progress and meet proficiency benchmarks faster.

One-on-One, Remote Sessions

One Student, One Instructor

In the face of growing class sizes, it has become more difficult for teachers to dedicate time to each student. Once a student starts falling behind, 1:1 instruction is more important than ever.

Benefits of Remote Instruction

During the COVID-19 pandemic, students and teachers became familiar with online instruction tools like Zoom. Remote instruction makes reading intervention more accessible for families who:

  • Live in rural communities lacking in-person reading intervention services
  • Are too busy with after-school schedules to add another commute
  • Do not have reliable transportation
  • Have other accessibility needs that are not met by services near them
